About Serbia

The Most Developed Trail Scene in the Balkans

Serbia’s trail running scene is one of the most developed in the Western Balkans — with a race calendar that punches well above the country’s profile. Stara Planina in the east is a UTMB World Series venue, bringing international-standard trail racing to a dramatic plateau of gorges, waterfalls, and open ridgelines.

Fruška Gora in the north is a completely different experience — rolling hills dotted with medieval Orthodox monasteries, offering one of the most unusual and beautiful trail running backdrops in Europe. Running past 14th-century monasteries on a race course is something you won’t find anywhere else.

☀ Best season: April – October
