About Kosovo

Small Country. Outsized Mountains.

Kosovo is the Balkans’ best-kept trail running secret. A small country with an outsized mountain character — the Sharr Mountains in the south, the Accursed Mountains in the west, and the Rugova Canyon cutting through some of the most dramatic terrain in Southeast Europe.

The trail running scene here is young and rapidly growing, with international races now drawing runners from across Europe. The High Scardus Ultra crosses into North Macedonia on high-altitude ridgelines above 2,000m — one of the most exciting race formats in the region. Come before the crowds do.
